I am quite glad to see that ABC & Marvel continue working on the possibility of an Agent Carter TV show. Beyond the movement on the series I am very glad that they have Hayley Atwell coming back for it. I quite enjoyed her in the first Captain America movie and the Marvel one-shot of Agent Carter that came out on the Iron Man 3 DVD/Blu-Ray. The potential TV series just would not be the same without her, since she played the part so well.
ABC’s “Captain America” spinoff “Agent Carter” is gaining momentum, landing commitments from Hayley Atwell, who played the World War II government agent in the movie, and showrunners Tara Butters and Michele Fazekas.
Last night I had gotten tickets to a preview screening of the movie Thor from the site Gofobo and in the past when I have done preview screenings normally got to the theater 45-30 minutes in advance and while I was not the first in line, I did get in. Last night I ended up not getting in with being there about 35 minutes in advance, the people running the screening said that theater was full an hour before the screening, and they had not seen a screen fill up that fast before really. It gives some small indication that people are quite excited for Thor, we will know for sure when it comes out next weekend and see how it does at the box office. The people running the screening took our screener tickets and said we would be invited another one they where having next week before it came out, so if do end up getting tickets for that certainly will be going earlier this time to it.
Besides the normal signs that winter is ending like Groundhog Day and the days getting longer in terms of daylight, is the promos start ramping up for the big summer films.
After seeing the first glimpse of footage I think Captain America is one of the films I am most anticipating this summer. From what they showed in the 30 second Super Bowl spot, it looks promising and i am eager to see more.
The latest X-Men trailer looks good, and at least it likely will be a bit different than the other three, since this one is set in the 1960’s instead of modern day as the first three.
Thor also shows some promise in what I have seen. Anthony Hopkins who plays a part in this movie, is always great to see, along with Natalie Portman who I have enjoyed for a long time.
So after seeing these promos and the ones for the new Pirates of the Caribbean and Cowboys and Aliens, certainly seems like this year’s summer films have some real promise. Hopefully they live up to their promise.
